About Christian Writer

Christian Writer's guidelines

Christian Writer is an online publication. The aim is to develop people’s writing skills, provide encouragement, humour and above all, solace for writers. If your article does not fall into any of these categories, they wouldn’t be accepted. Christian Writer is founded on Christian principles. It tends to lean towards the evangelical/Pentecostal tradition however, writers of other denominations are encouraged to send in their material.

The Christian Writer devotional is a monthly devotional with a weekly focus. Thus there are four devotionals in one month or five if the month runs over. Each devotional week starts and ends on a Sunday. The weekly devotional notes are capped at 200 words with 150 words being the minimum. The Bible translation of choice is New King James/NIV. Writers should be bear in mind that the devotions are aimed at writers hence their devotional should be aimed at and expressed thus.
Each weekly devotional note starts with Week Ending and a Bible Reading. To get a sense of the devotional writing style, go to www.christianwriter.co.uk.

Language style

English language style is UK. E.g. ‘ise’ not ‘ize’, ‘recognise’ not ‘recognize’. God is referred to ‘He’, ‘His’. Quotations are single with double within.

You keep the copyright of the devotionals you write.

Writers should note that it is a criminal offence to pass off other writers’ written work as your own. The 1988 Copyright, Design and Patents Act allows you to quote from other sources as long it doesn’t represent a substantial part of your work. If you are still in doubt, kindly contact the author or author’s representatives for verification. Christian Writer will not be held liable for any copyright infringements incurred by the contracted writer. Your acceptance to write articles will be taken as proof of your agreement with these terms and conditions.

A reminder: Christian Writer is a writer for Christians who write or anyone with an interest in writing who has sympathy with the Christian faith. CW is not a Christian living website. This means any articles submitted is targeted at Christians who write. For example, rather than submitting an article on the 'moral decay' of contemporary fiction books, write about how Christian fiction is relevant to modern society and the writing style techniques one might use to achieve this.

Christian Writer is not accepting submissions at this time.
